Location & Setting
Villa Cocoa Maya is directly on a white-sand beach in Candidasa, a small coastal town in eastern Bali. It is a 90-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport and a 15-minute drive from the ferry terminal at Padangbaai. It's a leisurely 5-minute walk into town where there is a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets, and shops.

An Exceptional Stay at Villa Cocoa Maya - it was truly fantastic! The infinity pool was absolutely beautiful, and the villa is furnished to a very high standard, both inside and out. Everything felt stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.What made our stay truly exceptional, however, was the amazing and hardworking team. They went far beyond what we could have expected and seemed to anticipate almost every wish before we even had to ask. They genuinely did everything they could to make our stay perfect.We were also travelling with our baby, who was wonderfully cared for by the team. They even prepared special meals just for our little one, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch.It was a fantastic experience for our entire family, and we felt incredibly well looked after throughout our stay. A week in paradise! A really special villa - very spacious both inside and outside. Wonderful pool great both for family fun and swimming lengths. The sea on your doorstep. Kind staff who made us feel at home. We also enjoyed massage, nail and braiding services that came to the pool room - real luxury! We loved our week and were sad to leave.

Villa Cocoa Maya is absolutely paradise!!! The property is picture perfect with a sense that you are alone with your own private beach. The staff was amazing not only in keeping the property picture perfect but also securing anything we wanted from snorkeling, massages, dinner reservations, transportation, clean laundry, or any home cooked meal/snack/dessert at our request! So many things!!! The accommodation itself was beautiful, the bedrooms were spacious and clean and had everything we didn’t know we needed in them. The staff were so helpful and catered to our every need, they were so friendly and welcoming our whole stay. The facilities were enjoyed by us all, it was such a wonderful experience.

The villa is a little paradise on earth. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the garden is gorgeous and the gazebo and billiard house are fantastic. There is an entrance to the sea directly from the garden. The staff cooks great, is very discreet and tried to help us with any matter. We went to Bali with the intention of spending 10 days lounging, swimming, playing billiards and tasting Asian cuisine. The villa and its staff completely fulfilled this task and we all enjoyed our stay. If we ever go to Bali again, we would definitely like to stay in this villa again. The fishing trip was really worth it - we caught about 14 fish (most of them near a nearby island), which the cooks then prepared for us for lunch.

First let’s give a round of applause for the staff!!! I can’t speak more highly of the amazing staff and all they did for us. The property was maintained everyday. Food was amazing, Bali was amazing!! Neighbors super sweet with the adorable kids. We had a group of 7 and everyone fit comfortably. Beach was a few steps away. Pool was exactly like pictured, we occupied it everyday. Speakers available outside. We had a beautiful Friendsgiving dinner outside. Anything you need just ask and it was delivered. When it was time to leave hugs and kisses and a few tears. The staff was so nurturing it felt like family. We will definitely be back.

My adult family loved this villa and the team. Well maintained VIlla, with huge private bedrooms and lovely styling. Great location, just a short stroll to shops, restaurants, spas etc. Try the massage which Komang can organise on site, this was the best massage I've every had, and I've had a few!When you enter the Villa, you see the lovely beach which all rooms overlook. The pool is exceptional. There are multiple living/relaxing areas, where you can sit alone if in a big group or engage with one another.Komang and her team are wonderful, and they were exceptional in providing us with an environment and service which made our stay very memorable.There is a menu to choose from for food and beverages (optional). At first I was skeptical if my family would use this, but it was awesome, and I wished the other accommodation which we visited also had this service. Very reasonable priced, and good quality. It was so nice to just order a smoothy and chill next to the pool!

Is Villa Cocoa Maya really on the beach?
Yes — the villa sits directly on the Candidasa seafront, five steps from the sea, with ocean views from every bedroom. The water in front of the villa is warm and calm enough for swimming, and there is good snorkelling straight off the beach: mask on, walk in.
Is the villa exclusive use?
Yes — when you book Villa Cocoa Maya, the entire villa is reserved just for you and your group, with no other guests on the property during your stay.
What does the rate include?
Staying at Villa Cocoa Maya, your nightly rate covers daily breakfast, your dedicated villa team, daily housekeeping, tea and coffee, bottled water, and WiFi throughout the villa. Lunch, dinner, and snacks can be ordered from our reasonably priced à la carte menu. 11% government tax and 5% service charge are added to all rates.
Is there a minimum stay, and when are check-in and check-out?
Standard check-in at Villa Cocoa Maya begins at 2pm, with check-out by 10am. If you need to arrive earlier or leave later, we’re often able to accommodate this — full details are on our Guest Info page. Book 3 nights or more and we’ll also arrange a free airport transfer for your group.
How far is Candidasa from the airport and from Ubud?
Candidasa sits on Bali’s quieter east coast, roughly a 90-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport and just 20 minutes from the ferry terminal at Padangbai, where fast boats depart for Lombok, the Gili Islands, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Lembongan. We’re happy to arrange a transfer to or from the ferry terminal if needed, though many ferry operators also offer free transfers in the area. Ubud is about an hour and a half away by car. As with our other villas, a stay of three nights or more includes one complimentary airport pickup or drop-off, and a total stay of six nights or more split between Villa Cocoa Maya and another of our villas includes a complimentary transfer between them.
How many people can Villa Cocoa Maya sleep?
Up to twelve guests across four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Every bedroom has a king-size bed, and the Garden Room offers extra flexibility — its king-size bed can convert into two separate beds, alongside a double bunk, making it ideal for families or groups travelling with teenagers or children who’d like their own space. With a large TV and sofa, the Garden Room also doubles easily as a media room or hangout space for kids and teens. The nightly rate covers six guests, with a per-person supplement from the seventh — see the rates table above.
Is Villa Cocoa Maya staffed?
Yes — a team of 5 look after Villa Cocoa Maya, working in shifts to take care of daily housekeeping, meal preparation and cooking, and arranging concierge extras like in-villa spa treatments, massages, yoga on the lawn, and day trips using our drivers. Evenings include a turn-down service, and our staff can also help arrange babysitting if needed. They’re there to help whenever required, and quick to step back when you’d rather have privacy.
Is Villa Cocoa Maya self-catering?
Villa Cocoa Maya doesn’t operate on a self-catering basis — the kitchen is for our staff’s use, and cooking your own meals or bringing in outside food isn’t part of how we operate, in the same way it wouldn’t be at a hotel. Your villa staff prepare meals from an affordable à la carte menu of Indonesian and Western dishes, on top of your daily included breakfast. Everyone can order their own dish. You’re never obligated to dine in — Candidasa has a good selection of restaurants a short walk away too. For drinks, help yourself from the villa’s self-service fridges; usage is tracked by staff and billed accordingly, and a cocktail menu is available if you’d like something more elaborate. You’re welcome to store your own snacks in the fridge too — useful for families travelling with children, or anyone with specific dietary requirements.
Does Villa Cocoa Maya cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes — we’re well accustomed to preparing meals for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free guests, as well as those with more serious food allergies. We ask that you share any dietary needs with us on arrival, or ahead of your stay, so our team can plan your meals accordingly.
Is Villa Cocoa Maya suitable for children and families?
Yes — it is a very family-friendly villa. The sea in front is calm, and the garden is large and flat. There are two kayaks and a surf ski for your use as well as a games room in the garden, with a second TV, self-service bar fridge, pool table and board games. Mini golf is just across the road from the villa. Complimentary travel cots and high chairs are available, a babysitter can be arranged, and a pool fence can be organised at a reasonable cost.
What is there to do near Villa Cocoa Maya?
Eastern Bali has the island’s best reefs and small islands for diving and snorkelling, and Blue Lagoon and White Sand Beach are each about 15 minutes by boat or car from the villa’s own beach. Inland there are rice-field walks near Tenganan, the Tirta Gangga water palace with its spring-fed pools, Tenganan’s double-ikat weaving Aga village, white-water rafting on the Telaga Waja river and, for early risers, the Mount Agung climb. Yoga at the Gedong Gandhi ashram is a ten-minute walk (dependent on the availability of yoga teachers), and a mini-golf course sits directly across the road from the villa. The villa team arranges boats, drivers and guides — the night before is usually soon enough.
Can we walk into town?
Yes. Candidasa’s restaurants, supermarkets and shops are a leisurely five-minute walk along the seafront, so you can leave the car behind for lunch or a seafood dinner in town.
